Wellbeing requires effort everyday.

In 2015 my life changed when I went out for a game of lunchtime indoor football and I got my sixth (out of seven) concussion. Until then I thought a concussion was a thing that made you feel off for a few days - little did I know the life changing consequences.

Since then I’ve been on a journey of self discovery, healing and reclamation.

Below is a little about the different things I’ve learned along the way.

Understanding my mind and soul

Following my injury I had a real identity crisis - to be honest it’s happened previously to, particularly when I became a Mum. Over the years I’ve battled with anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, overwhelm… so I’ve been on a journey to discover who I am, how I react and cope with things as well as various tools to help me on my way. From meditation and daily affirmations to various online tests to discover more about myself. This is a bunch of stuff I’ve come across that has helped my mind and soul.

Healing my physical body

Any kind of mental or physical injury manifests in your body. I’ve suffered from headaches, neck pain, back pain, and aging just sucks when it comes to recuperation on minor injuries. The whole way I’ve tried different things - Acupuncture, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Physio, Chiro, Reiki not to mention worked on my sleep hygiene and general exercise. Here is a bunch more info on stuff I’ve tried and my experience with it.
